Road Tests

To Take Your Road Test On Your Own: 

• Call the RMV’s automated service phone number 866-MASSRMV (866-627-7768) to schedule your test.  This number and additional information regarding road tests is in your Commonwealth of Massachusetts Driver’s Manual or go the RMV’s website: www.mass.gov/rmv 
   

• RMV fees (payable to the RMV):

Road test fee $20.00
License issue fee $50.00

To Take Your Road Test with Triad at the RMV: 

• Call Triad and let us know that you want to take a road test at the RMV using a Triad vehicle and instructor as a sponsor.  We will contact the RMV and schedule the appointment for you. 
   

• Pay the RMV all of the RMV fees listed above
   

• Send the road test payment to Triad ($100.00).  This has to be received at least 4 days before the date of the road test. 

Wherever you take your road test:  A completed Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Application for a License must be presented at the time of the road test.  You can not take the road test without this completed form!  This form can be downloaded from the Registry's website www.mass.gov/rmv or obtained at Triad.
