We offer comprehensive driving evaluations to individuals looking to obtain a Massachusetts license or those interested in determining safety and fitness to operate a motor vehicle.

Driving is an essential activity of daily living that keeps an individual connected to people and events. Occupational therapy practitioners with specialized training in driver rehabilitation help individuals remain mobile and independent so that they may be able to participate in meaningful activities in the community. Our clients are provided with personalized and confidential evaluations that emphasize their abilities in order to achieve the highest level of independence possible.

What We Offer

• Clinical Assessment of an individual's physical, visual, perceptual, and cognitive abilities that underlie driving safety.
• Behind-the-Wheel Assessment is conducted at Triad Driving Academy to assess behind-the-wheel safety and driving performance. Some of the critical skills needed for safe driving include lane placement, observation skills, reaction time, traffic awareness, communication skills, scanning, and more.
• Referrals and Recommendations will be provided based on the results of the clinical evaluation. Some of the recommendations may include planning and coordinating further training, adaptation, and modification, specialized driving lessons, alternative driving solutions.
