Driver Ed Courses
Our number one priority is always traffic safety. All of our classroom and driving instructors are professionals who are certified by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles.
COVID-19 CHANGES: As of May 29, 2021 certain COVID restrictions have been lifted.
The requirement for junior operators to complete six hours observing another student driver will revert back to driving schools and must be completed as part of the driver's education curriculum.
- If the learner's permit was issued BEFORE May 29, 2021, the student may continue to complete their observation driving hour requirement with the Parent/Guardian Affidavit, or observation driving hours may be completed with a licensed instructor in the driving school vehicle.
- If a learner's permit is issued ON or AFTER May 29, 2021, ALL observation driving hours must be completed with a licensed instructor in the driving school vehicle. The Parent/Guardian Affidavit form will no longer apply to these students. Students will again be allowed to sit in the vehicle to observe another student and complete their observation driving hours.
Observation hours can be completed by a parent/guardian in the form of driving hours if a student's permit was issued BEFORE May 29, 2021. An original Affidavit of Completion Form must be submitted to Triad confirming when the hours were completed. This form can be found on our website under Rules & Resources, Helpful Forms. Students and instructors will continue to wear a mask during a lesson. Instructors will continue to disinfect the vehicle in between students.

Triad Driving Academy offers door-to-door pick-up and drop-off service for all behind-the-wheel driving lessons in Beverly, Hamilton, Wenham, Danvers, Topsfield, Ipswich, Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester and Essex. No other driving school offers this type of service to these communities. Triad does reserve the right to decide on a case-by-case basis whether or not a student can be picked-up or dropped-off at their requested location. If Triad feels that a requested location needs to be changed, we will discuss this with you and try to arrange a mutually convenient meeting location for the driving lesson. This policy is in place to ensure that all students receive an optimal driving experience.
PARENT CLASS:
State law requires that parents of students under the age of 18 attend a special 2-hour parent class before your student can schedule behind-the-wheel or in-car driving lessons. This class explains what your child is learning in driver's ed, the current laws, and how parents can reinforce what their children are learning as well as how they can be positive role models behind-the-wheel themselves. This class attendance is valid for five years. So if a parent has another child taking driver's ed in that timeframe, they will not have to retake the class. As of May 1, 2019, The RMV is requiring a parent/guardian, (of any student under the age of 18) to complete the mandatory two hour parent course BEFORE a student can start scheduling any behind the wheel lessons.
